Two-Ingredient Pumpkin Frozen Dog Treats

Finished pastel orange pumpkin-yogurt frozen cubes stacked loosely in a small freezer tub on a cool gray kitchen counter, subtle frost visible, freezer softly visible behind

Pumpkin and plain yogurt make a simple orange freezer treat. There is no need for an ice-cream machine: mix, portion and freeze. Keeping the mixture in small molds also avoids repeatedly thawing a large tub just to remove one piece.

Before you start

Use plain pumpkin purée rather than pumpkin pie filling. Stir the yogurt before measuring if liquid has separated in its container.

How should I serve it?

Offer a small, manageable portion under supervision. Treats and toppers supplement regular food; they do not replace a complete diet. Ask your veterinarian before introducing this recipe if your dog has food allergies, a medical condition or a prescribed diet.

Keep extras within your dog’s daily treat allowance.

Storage and preparation notes

Keep portions sealed and frozen, and thaw only what you need. Label the container with the recipe name and preparation date. Do not return a licked or partially eaten piece to the batch.

See USDA storage guidance and minimum cooking temperatures. This recipe has not been kitchen-tested by My Dog Recipe; check doneness rather than relying only on the timer.

Will this stay scoopable like shop-bought ice cream?

Do not expect the same texture. Small individual molds make portioning easier than trying to scoop a hard container. Never force a rock-hard piece between your dog’s teeth.
