Carrot and broth make an orange freezer treat without dairy. A blender does the mixing, and small molds divide the batch before it freezes. Choose plain broth without onion, garlic or added salt; a seasoned soup stock is not the same ingredient.

Chop the carrot into small pieces before blending and use a blender suited to raw vegetables. Pause and scrape down only when the appliance is switched off.

Ingredients

• 1 cup chopped carrots
• 1/2 cup bone broth (dog friendly)

Method

1. Blend the chopped carrot and broth until smooth. Add a small splash of the same broth only if needed for blending.
2. Divide into small silicone freezer molds.
3. Freeze for about four hours, until set. Soften the portion before offering and keep the remainder frozen.

How should I serve it?

Offer a small, manageable portion under supervision. Treats and toppers supplement regular food; they do not replace a complete diet. Ask your veterinarian before introducing this recipe if your dog has food allergies, a medical condition or a prescribed diet.

Keep extras within your dog’s daily treat allowance.

Storage and preparation notes
