Grated zucchini and cottage cheese give these salmon egg bites a different texture from a dry biscuit. The most useful preparation step is squeezing the zucchini before mixing. Removing that extra liquid makes it easier to judge when the centers have set.
Before you start
Optional eggshell powder is not needed to make the bites hold together. Use it only if a veterinarian has advised it for your dog; otherwise omit it.

Salmon and Zucchini Egg Bites for Dogs recipe
About 10 minutes preparation and 10–12 minutes cooking
Batch yield: 6 frittata. Actual size and count may vary; this is not a daily serving recommendation.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked salmon
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup zucchini (grated)
- 1/4 cup cottage cheese
- 1 tablespoon curly parsley (chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon eggshell powder (optional) — only if veterinarian-directed; otherwise omit
- 1 tablespoon hemp hearts (optional)
Method
- Heat the air fryer to 320°F / 160°C. Squeeze the grated zucchini dry and check the cooked salmon for bones.
- Beat the eggs; fold in salmon, zucchini, cottage cheese and parsley, with hemp hearts if used.
- Divide into heat-safe silicone cups. Cook about 10–12 minutes, continuing until the centers reach 165°F / 74°C. Let cool before removing.

How should I serve it?
Offer a small, manageable portion under supervision. Treats and toppers supplement regular food; they do not replace a complete diet. Ask your veterinarian before introducing this recipe if your dog has food allergies, a medical condition or a prescribed diet.
Keep extras within your dog’s daily treat allowance.
Storage and preparation notes
Refrigerate promptly in a covered container at 40°F / 4°C or below. Use within three days, or freeze portions sooner. This is a conservative storage plan, not a tested shelf-life claim.
See USDA storage guidance and minimum cooking temperatures. This recipe has not been kitchen-tested by My Dog Recipe; check doneness rather than relying only on the timer.
Why is there liquid around my bites?
Wet zucchini can release water during cooking. Squeeze it thoroughly next time and check that the center is cooked, rather than using a browned top alone as your guide.
